Cookie Policy
This page explains what we store in your browser when you visit a Capture Studio website. It is short, because we store very little.
1.The short version
We use strictly necessary storage only — the things the site needs to sign you in and to let a form work. We do not run analytics, we do not run advertising, and we do not track you across other websites. That is why you are not being asked to accept a cookie banner.
3.What we set
| What | Set by | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| Authentication session | Firebase Authentication (Google) | Keeps you signed in to the rider, resort-admin and super-admin portals as you move between pages. Without it you would have to log in on every page load. | Until you sign out, or the session expires |
| Firebase app instance ID and SDK state | Firebase JS SDK (Google) | The Firebase SDK initialises when the page loads — it powers the demo-request and waitlist forms as well as the signed-in portals — and writes a small amount of local state so it can talk to the backend. | Persistent until you clear your browser storage |
| Locale preference | Capture Studio | Remembers the language and units you chose so you do not have to set them again. | Persistent until you clear your browser storage |
| Security and abuse prevention | Vercel (our hosting platform) | Short-lived operational storage our host uses to route and protect requests. | Session, or short-lived |
All of the above are strictly necessary: each one exists because a function you asked for would not work without it. None of them are used to profile you or to measure your behaviour for our commercial benefit.
4.What we do not set
- No advertising or retargeting cookies.
- No cross-site tracking or third-party ad-network pixels.
- No social media tracking pixels.
- No product analytics or heatmap/session-recording tools on the marketing site.
- We do not sell or share browser data with data brokers.
If that changes
If we add analytics or any other non-essential technology, we will update this page and put a consent banner in front of it first, so you can refuse before anything is set. Non-essential storage will not be switched on without asking you.5.Third parties whose code runs on our pages
- Google (Firebase) — authentication, database and forms. Google acts as our processor for this and stores our data in the EU (Frankfurt).
- Google Maps — only on pages that show a map. Google may set its own cookies when a map loads; see Google’s own privacy notice for those.
- Vercel — our hosting platform. It handles requests and may set short-lived operational cookies. We have not enabled Vercel’s analytics product.
6.Managing storage in your browser
You can clear or block cookies and site storage in your browser settings, and most browsers let you do this per site. Because everything we set is strictly necessary, blocking it will break things: you will not be able to stay signed in, and the demo-request and waitlist forms will fail. Nothing you lose by blocking is used for tracking.
7.The mobile app
The Capture Ski mobile app does not use browser cookies. It stores your session and preferences locally on your device, and uses a push notification token to deliver notifications. What the app collects, and why, is set out in our Privacy Policy.
